17 February 2008 · posted by Staff

Launched commercially in Europe during the last quarter of the year, the Peugeot 308 has already exceeded the first target of 100,000 vehicles produced.

This phase coincides with the market introduction of the «three-door» hatch versions and the economically attractive engines, in particular the 1.6 l HDi with emissions of no more than 120 g of CO2/km.
Praised for its build quality and level of finish, the 308 is starting to infiltrate the major markets of the Brand where it has received a very warm welcome, like Germany, where it has been singled out with the prestigious «Golden Steering Wheel» award.
Today, the Peugeot 308 which is produced at the Mulhouse and Sochaux sites at a rate of 1,400 vehicles per day is also soon to be available in the markets outside of Europe (at the end of 2007).

From Spring 2008 onwards, the Hatch variant of the 308 will be joined by other body styles also anticipated by the customers in the compact cars category.
